Please pardon any terrible errors you might find! I'm reorganizing the site a little bit before I get reviewed on it. If you see silly things afoot, don't yell at me! I added some contrast between the content and the menu, some better organization, and I fixed the breadcrumbs on the Contact page. Unfortunately, I had to abandon my search form because I want to tweak it a little more before I put it back. I don't think you'll miss it. I also revised the content on some pages and optimized some images to help with load-times. I have a little bit more to do, so stay tuned.
In other news, summer ended two days ago. The first day of school, for me, was waking up six hours before I was accustomed, and walking aimlessly around the school building picking up papers. But I encountered some very impressive teachers. Here they are:
Mr. Rutledge // Debate 3
I'm technically not supposed to be in Debate 3 at all because I never took 1 or 2, but I got placed in it at my friend Lindsay's behest (LUFFS). He's very animated, very ready to go. I'm just worried the class will be a little too much to take in. I'm expected to attend so many tournaments if I'm in the class, to get my grade, but I figure I should try one first — before I get overwhelmed. I do, after all, have too much to do sometimes.
Mr. Ed — PAP Latin 3
Mr. Ed (Yeomans) likes to try to be your friend. He's silly, he's energetic, and he's usually available for advice, so he would probably be my favorite teacher, hands down. I would have loved Mrs. Lacy (our old Latin teacher) just as much, but Mr. Ed brings a new spirit into Latin — showing that it's not for the old guys. Yay Mr. Ed!
Mr. Ary/Mr. Mauldin — Band
I know I'm supposed to take all my teachers seriously, but I feel really distant around Mauldin and Ary. I don't know when they're joking, when they're not. The band's also so huge that it's hard for him to keep track of everyone. I love band, but I love it for playing, not for marching, and we focus entirely too much on that, I believe. The whole band program runs off of freaking testosterone.
Mrs. Jones — AP English 3
She tried to clothesline me a few times and she inspires me to say too many silly things in a class period. LUFF. Easily a favorite!
Mrs. Salmon — AP U.S. History
When I had Mrs. Nguyen for AP World History, we learned nothing. Not one lecture. She often got facts mixed up and caused half the people to leave the class instantly. BUT I STILL GOT A 5! Mrs. Salmon, on the other hand, brings that vitality back into learning. She knows her stuff, and she involves us more in the class. Already, we're at work and I can't wait. This is what history classes are supposed to be like.
Mr. Curtis — PAP Chemistry
To me, Mr. Curtis looks a lot like Russell Crowe from the side. Of course, he's a good deal pudgier, but he reprises Crowe's role in A Beautiful Mind to the very core of his being. He seems interestingly philosophical — we discussed the difference between science and technology, and I wrote down some stuff about how science comes from scio (L -- I know/understand), and how technology is applying science to change or make a difference. But in the end, I started to fall asleep, so it didn't help.
Mr. Haarhoff — PAP Algebra 2
He's from South Africa, and one of my favorite books, The Power Of One, is about South Africa! He's funny, fun, and well, I didn't fall asleep. Plus the accent keeps one awake. Smashing! Splendid! Cool! That alone says a lot. Yay for young teachers!

The site looks great! Classes start here next Monday. I’ve been working all summer in the mornings, so unfortunately getting up early will not be a change for me. :( Nice variety of teachers! Sounds like it should be an interesting year. Good luck!

I don’t understand what you have against the band directors and marching band. First semester, band class IS marching band, and part of what makes them so hilarious is NOT knowing when they’re actually joking and who they’re making fun of. Mr. mauldin is definitely better at it, though because he’s had more experience.
Also, Mr. Haarhoff doesn’t believe in zeroes and is from Namibia in SOUTHERN Africa.

I have nothing against the band-directors, I’m just saying it’s awkward. And I know band class is marching class, but I joined band expecting more emphasis on playing. Furthermore, I just got moved DOWN A FREAKING BAND when I was 1st chair of mine. If that isn’t enough to make someone angry, I don’t know what is :(
And Mr. Haarhoff never clearly told us where he was from; I heard through rumors that he was from South Africa, so that’s what I wrote. However, Namibia (WINDHOEK) is directly west of South Africa so, close enough.
