About me

My name is Ranjani, and I'm 17 — thus a senior in high school. I will be attending The University of Texas at Austin in the fall, under the Plan II Honors program. I live in Texas with my fat dog and other wayward woodland creatures. The name "biscuitrat" was given to me by an Arizonan sasquatch when I went on one of my fortnightly vision quests. I feel that it bodes many great and terrible things for me.

Some day, I'd like to say that I've served in Doctors Without Borders, performed on Broadway, been a contestant on Jeopardy, and served a term or two in the House or the Senate. So I'd be some sort of medical-entertainer-genius-politician — someday!

I'm a writer, an artist, a singer, a pianist, a trombonist, and a captain (of my Latin Certamen trivia team and the Ancient Geography category). I am a member of Random Shapes and MintPages, and I write for Devlounge. I have secret shrines to The Beatles, Radiohead, and Monty Python in my closet. Don't tell the Spanish Inquisition!

My philosophies

My political views are rather liberal. I value openness, tolerance, freedom of expression, and so on. You will probably see this emerge in my political writing. I am naturally optimistic and I believe that all people are inherently good. I consider myself to be a Hindu, although I like pondering about religion itself in my head.
